Planning and site investigations for the 21 MWdc Papareireiā Solar Farm were completed in 2024, with construction successfully finished shortly thereafter. Green Gold Energy’s in-house EPC team delivered the electrical installation, ensuring the highest standards of safety and performance on site.
Led by CHINT Green Energy New Zealand and utilising over 33,000 high-efficiency TOPCon modules from Astronergy Solar, the project now produces more than 30 GWh of clean electricity annually — enough to power approximately 4,000 homes or charge 12,800 electric vehicles each year — while reducing carbon emissions by around 30,000 tonnes annually.
