Green Gold Energy (GGE) is pleased to announce that our recently developed 1.98MVA solar farm at Caroona Road, Port Augusta West, has now been successfully energised. This energisation took place on the 18th of September and commenced full generation as of today, following a safe in-house HV switching and satisfactory witness test with SAPN.
It took a great team effort to bring this project to fruition and to reach GGE’s high standard of quality; mindful of the internal budget and timeline outlined in the agreement with the project principal, Astronergy Co. Ltd (Chint Solar).
This project marks a significant milestone for GGE, demonstrating our developed ability to deliver an EPC project with internal construction for mechanical (GRE) and electrical (ACE) installations, with very limited sub-contracted work for piling, trench, concrete, and HV termination.
This experience has been critical for the development of our commercial team in negotiating and securing more EPC contracts in 2021 with various overseas investors and project principals. Opening the commercial team and the overall company to the opportunity of more EPC contracts in the future supports one of our overarching values of providing continuous employment opportunities and strength to the economy.

As our company expands into the EPC market, with the propensity to institute, manage, and function <5MW large scale solar farms and even 100MW+ utility-scale solar farms, we aim to develop our internal capability to cover all facets, including but not limited to; engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
