We are pleased to announce that Morgan Solar Farm, a 108 MW solar photovoltaic project with up to 440 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), has received its Clause 5.3.4 letter, issued by Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) and ElectraNet Pty Ltd, which confirms that the project meets the required Generator Performance Standard.
Morgan Solar Farm is being developed by Green Gold Energy, with CHINT as the project’s major shareholder. This partnership brings together our strong local development expertise with CHINT’s extensive global renewable energy investment experience.
Located on a 622-hectare site within the Mid Murray Council area in South Australia’s Stuart region, Morgan Solar Farm is designed to support South Australia’s transition to a cleaner, more resilient energy system.
Once operational, our Morgan Solar Farm is expected to generate approximately 279 GWh of clean electricity annually, enough to meet the average annual electricity needs of around 50,950 households, based on an average daily consumption of 15 kWh per household.
Morgan Solar Farm is expected to contribute to regional employment, improved energy security, and emissions reduction, while supporting South Australia’s renewable energy targets. We will continue to engage with stakeholders and provide updates as the project advances.
